The Gentle Guide to Starting Intermittent Fasting
How to ease into time-restricted eating safely, without stress or extreme rules.
Intermittent fasting is less about restriction and more about rhythm. By giving your body a consistent overnight break from food, many people find they have steadier energy and a calmer relationship with eating.
Start with a 12:12 schedule — for example, finishing dinner at 7pm and having breakfast at 7am. After a week or two, if it feels good, you can try 14:10.
Stay hydrated during your fasting window with water, herbal tea, or black coffee. When you eat, prioritize protein, fiber and colorful vegetables to stay satisfied.
Listen to your body. Fasting isn't right for everyone, including people who are pregnant, have a history of disordered eating, or take certain medications. Always check with your healthcare provider first.
